Sounds like fun but I’ve fallen asleep listening to Gorgoroth!
Haha, interesting! You sound metal as fuck, Abbi!
Not so much now but when I was 14 I discovered Death / Trash Metal. When I was 15 I discovered Norwegian Black Metal and fell in love. Merciful Fate were the band that got me into playing guitar. I’ve chilled out in my old age lol
I discovered Ulver around that age, and their works after their black metal trilogy took me on a trip.
Never really liked the more “let’s burn churches and go for national socialism”-thing some of those bands had going on, but I can appreciate a good norwegian black metal album.
I was 15 years old and loved the rebellious side of Black Metal. I’m a devout atheist so singing about an evil fictitious entity just makes me giggle plus I loved the anger in the music
I’m a bassplayer and the bass driven Sober is my fav all time Tool song. Got it on vinyl. Covered the song once too. Hard to get the bassriff right.
In the nineties, MTV had late night metal music shows. The video for Sober was so creepy and mesmerizing at the same time. It stuck on me and never got unstuck.
A great song although in my opinion Justin Chancellor is a better bass player. I heard people calling him Tool’s lead bass player. Saying that, some of Paul D’Amour’s basslines with Ministry are a bit special.
It was Tool’s amazing music videos that first got me interested in them!
Absolutely. Adam is a very talented person. What is your favourite one?
Probably Prison Sex or Parabola! What’s yours?
Parabola is my favourite its very clever and I like that it has Tricky in it. I also like the one for Stinkfist
Ohh, sorry!
I didn’t want the forum to be flooded by mentioning Tool
It’s off topic. No problem here.
Anyone seen Gojira live ?
Nope, can’t say that I have.
What’s special about them playing live?
The purity. The energy and the absolute tightness. Like the asshole of a woman afraid of anal
I want to. Their stuff is really crazy. It’s the only death metal band I listen and withstand so far, but I’d like to expand my playlist.
I don’t usually listen to many extreme metal bands, but if I do, it’s because I really like them.
They’re not deathmetal at all. Mario drums odd time signatures, so they are rather progressive metal.
I’d like to see them sadly no gigs planned in the UK but I am going to see Behemoth supported by Satyricon. A bit of old school Black Metal!
Credence Clearwater Revival, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, Weird Al, baroque, a little Cat Stevens, some Micheal Jackson, Elvis Presley, the Monkees, Nat King Cole, Big Band, rather a fan of Renaissance lute music, Debussy, Coldplay, a smattering of late 90s early 00s alternative, classic rock… To name a few things.
Renaissance lute music is a wonderful and soothing thing!
