Please share those side effects.
Good thing I’m not afraid of needles. Otherwise, that would be a really enbarrasing situation.
Oh, I reckoned the caption wasn’t accurate (wrong hair, eyebrows, and clothes for 1901 for starters), but it was still funny.
She is giving him an enema, by the way. There is no needle.
We’re in rather murky waters here, as the studies we have aren’t all conclusive. Keep in mind, though, that CBD is only indicated by the FDA for treating seizures, so even the common usage isn’t covered by studies.
Most worrying is that there are some indications that CBD in high doses can negatively effect the liver. Might be damaging, might just change the metabolism in some way (of that, there is proof), but it’s unclear what exactly is going on, and if it’s harmful.
There have also been studies on the effect of CBD on inner ocular pressure, some studies finding it reduces it, some finding it elevates it, others finding it counteracts the lowering effect THC has on IOP. The consensus there is, if you have to watch your IOP, better not use CBD.
It is funny!
But is it just me or are the proportions also wrong? From her thighs compared to his head, and her height compared to the bed, she seems like a giantess.
Okay, assuming the bed is low, she is definitely bigger than the guy and her proportions would suggest a rather buxom 6ft or more women. Or he’s a particular petit man.
Omg I would love one of those. Instead I’m driving a 7-year old Kia Sportage. Can’t wait until I graduate!
Sadly, many of us have lost all faith in the FDA and its sister agencies. Government agency employees receive royalties from drug companies for the drugs they assist in developing. You can’t patent a plant that grows in the wild. Anything natural that can’t be patented is a threat to companies that develop synthetically produced drug. A blatant and flagrant conflict of interest that does nothing to protect the public from placing profits over public safety. Despite my libertarian leanings, some regulation is necessary, especially with products like pharmaceuticals.
The drug companies operate the strongest lobbies in Washington DC. The drug companies have effectively prevented the feds from deregulating cannabis as a controlled substance. Fentanyl is listed as a Schedule 2 narcotic while cannabis is listed as the highest regulated Schedule 1 narcotic. Illegal fentanyl is killing 100,000 Americans each year while drug companies and elected officials bemoan the dangers of cannabis and CBD.
Another example of why many of us don’t trust our regulatory agencies… red dye #3 was just made illegal for use as a food additive. More than 30 years ago the FDA prohibited red dye #3 from being used in cosmetics because it causes cancer. So… not safe to apply to your skin but hey, no problem to ingest.
Any reference to the FDA among many Americans will trigger a very cynical response. For decades many believe cannabis, and one of its compounds CBD, was believed to relieve the intraocular pressure caused by glaucoma. That’s a threat to the drug companies and the regulators they pay to develop synthetic drugs that must be injected into the eye.
The United States and New Zealand are the only two countries in the world that allow the direct marketing of pharmaceuticals to the public. On American television you will see commercials for drugs designed to treat the side effects caused by other drugs. A natural cure or treatment for any ailment is anathema to the drug companies and the regulators they pay to review and approve them.
Yet another example is the reluctance of regulators, and drug companies that pay them, to deregulate and/or legalize naturally occurring psilosybin to treat PTSD and many other mental health conditions. So many drugs used to treat mental health disorders cause serious side effects that require additional drugs to treat.
I always recommend people take a close look at EVERYTHING they put in their bodies, including metal, glass, and silicone toys used in the rectum and vagina. Whenever I see a reference to the FDA I question the accuracy of the information and the motivation behind their research and recommendations.
The bottom line is “buyer beware”. This includes doing your own extensive research and not necessarily trusting the government agencies funded with billions of dollars of taxpayer and drug company money.
I’ve researched CBD and cannabis extensively and the only reaction I’ve found that makes sense is the tendency of CBD to make statins slightly less effective. I encourage others to do their own research knowing the research by the FDA is heavily tainted. Sorry for the length of this post!
I understand. In this case, I would suggest taking a look at the studies, who funded them and where they were done.
Just because the FDA is a bad actor doesn’t mean that CBD can’t also have negative side effects. Plant based or not.
The fact that psilocybine is illegal almost everywhere in the world is absolutely idiotic, though. Luckily there’s currently lots of good data from studies coming in suggesting this should change.
But can you hear the conservative choir revving up?
“But it’s a druuuuuuuuug … !”
Making beef stew for supper tonight and decided to add some beer to the broth. Didn’t use the whole bottle and now here I am before supper, sipping a beer on a Tuesday afternoon.
Considering what I know of your upbringing, I’m not sure if I should say “right on, sister”, or say something about how that can be completely normal.
Yesterday we went to our favorite restaurant to discuss our wedding diner with close circle. We will legally marry this year and ceremonial next year.
Next year with grand party and weddingdress. She will then wear a blue buttplug I have made with custom inscription “(my name)’s fuckhole” on it. I hope she will go completely without any underwear too. Somehow I’ve always fantasized about marrying a woman who isn’t wearing anything underneath the weddingdress.
Yeah, I’m some sort of pervert
Both work, I reckon. Me twelve or thirteen years ago would have been worried I was turning into a lush drinking mid afternoon on a weekday.
Now me knows that was my first drink in like two weeks and the last one was a beer I split with my husband.
Then again, maybe younger me would have been correct in worrying. First I start drinking, then I start buying sex toys, then butt plugs, then I stop thinking women preachers are apostates , and now I’m here and enjoy anal sex!
I have some pretty tightly wound family still (that I also happen to like), and I honestly can’t decide which of those things would shock them more if they learned it. So I don’t advertise and let them think what they like.
Mostly because after seeing the reaction to me pointing out a few things are actually nothing more than opinions and theological constructs and not hard and fast biblical rules (and are also tertiary or even less important issues) sparked massive debate and dire warnings about me deconstructing and turning apostate. That’s not how that works, but thanks for caring enough to be worried, I guess.
Consider this, you even chat with reprobates of all kinds of unchristian background on the devil’s web! Better not tell them any more than their hearts could take
The devil’s web… You sound like my grandma’s pastor.
Haha, success then! I thought “devil’s web” was just the kind of term certain Christians would use
You nailed it! I’m trying to think of ones I’ve actually heard and it’s been too long since I’ve been in those circles. The only one I can remember is someone calling American Idol “American Idolatry”. I mostly just remember groaning at how stupid they are.
“American Idolatry” makes me groan worse than any dad joke could. And I bet whoever said that objected much more to the term “idol” than any actual content of the show.
I think “den of digital debauchery” would be too high-brow, right? However, never forget that this is where you are, sister, caught in the devil’s very web about to be SWALLOWED by the burning, sulpherous MAW of HELL! /s
I wish more religious people would concern themselves more with what they should do instead of what they shouldn’t allow for others to do.
Me too! It’s all rather frustrating. The legalistic checklist is, in a way, easy. You don’t have to think for yourself. You just have this (impossible and repressive) list of rules you follow (and measure and judge the world by) and then you’re good and everyone else is wrong. Only problem is, it doesn’t work because life is messy and like 95% of it isn’t in the Bible. What’s actually there are a handful of rules and a lot of principles and you’re supposed to used to help you navigate all the weird and varied circumstances of life. And there’s also stuff we just straight up can’t understand and stuff where more than one position is perfectly valid.
But studying and allowing multiple points of view is hard and a checklist and telling people they’re wrong is easy.
